Marketing Plan

Marketing plan:

The main idea of the marketing campaign is to gain contacts for the magazine and for the public to be aware of the magazine itself. We have set different targets for the event which include telling the public about the magazine and raising awareness about the magazine.

Clare and I have thought about different methods to make people aware of the events which will be taking place in the upcoming weeks. For example looking into exploring the social media side of Marketing, we have decided setting up a Twitter site which is going to be key part of making Bath aware of Bladud. We will be tweeting every day about what is going on and realizing short snippets of information. I’ve looked into setting up a Facebook event for the Networking event, I will be using Facebook mainly for the networking event and not so much the Southgate one. Using Facebook plays a big part in getting in touch with people due to people using Facebook more than any other social networking event.

Clare and I are going to make some flyers, lanyards and posters for the events. I have thought about asking one of the first years to do this as it would fit in with what they are doing plus I don’t think we are going to have time to do this with all the planning we need to do. I will sketch up some examples to show Seb what I want and I hope he sticks to what I have in mind.

We will be doing a week of pure marketing between the events. We will be tweeting everyday releasing information and facts about Bladud. We will telling people about the magazine, flying and just talking to students around the college and making them aware.


Here is a marketing campaign which is promoting Doves new products. This campaign has played on the fact they have used icons and characters which the public are going to recognize. They have thought about the way they could use different appearances to promote their different types of products. 

This marketing campaign was extremely successful dew to the characters being popular and they add a personality to the posters.

Finding was of spreading the work between myself and Clare was always going to be hard but we managed to make a chart which would show us what we needed to do and when. This table really did help as it gave us motivation and a clear idea of what  was needed to be done. I don’t think we could of done this any better, I’m happy with how we managed are time.

Task Three..

  • I really like the idea of having a flash mob on both events, I think it will make people interested and ask questions about what’s happening. Just a short dance with music maybe a good idea. If the dancers could come out of shops and off benchers and make it so spontaneous that people will not know what is going on and hopefully people will watch and therefore people will be attracted to what’s going on around it.


  • Getting flyers printed is a simple idea of people having the name on paper. The problem with this is that people will put them in the bin but some people may keep hold of them and actually go on the site on the paper. I think it’s a simple but brilliant idea and we will definitely being using this.
  • Pens, Everyone loves a free pen. Getting pens means people will have the name in their households and they may check out the site which will drive more traffic to the overall site.


  • I think having a good music set on the Southgate event is going to be extremely good as the music which will be playing will be young people from BA1 so therefore people might come and watch them and it will bring in walking traffic to see the bands and it’s a good opportunity to talk about Bladud and pass flyers out.
